How to Repair Outlook Data
Files .PST and.OST.
What is Microsoft Outlook?
Microsoft Outlook is an application
to configure, access and save emails (Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Business Emails and
etc) offline in your personal computer. All your emails can be accessible even
you are not online (connected to Internet).
What is .pst file in Outlook?
PST stands for Personal Storage Tables. It stores all the
files/data of the emails in .pst files. Storage limit of Single User is 2GB.
What is .ost file in Outlook?
It is an Offline Storage Tables. It is created by Outlook to store
files/data to hold offline copies of Emails, whatever exists in the Email
Server.
Steps to Repair .pst file:
1.
Goto
Run – Type in – "C:/Program Files” or “C:/Program Files x86" (Depending
on the version of Outlook installed in your computer) – Enter
2.
Now search
SCANPST.EXE
3. Hit Enter
on SCANPST.EXE
4.
Browse
your Outlook .pst files - By default Location are mentioned below:

Outlook
2007: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft
Office\Office12
b.
Outlook
2010: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft
Office\Office14
c.
Outlook
2013: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft
Office\Office15
d.
Outlook
2016: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft
Office\root\Office16
5.
If
Scan returns error – Checked the box “make backup of scanned files before repairing” and then click on Repair
6.
Once
the repair is complete, Restart your computer and start your Outlook.
